Payment must be made in full before OJD processes a records request. Estate and probate certified documents can require paper certification. OJD also warns that removing the staple from a paper certified copy can make that certification invalid, which matters for probate letters, small estate affidavits, and records used outside ordinary online review.

Oregon also uses the term set aside for many eligible adult arrests and convictions under ORS 137.225. A set-aside order can change how a criminal record appears for public-record and background-check purposes, but it does not mean every trace vanishes from every government system. Juvenile records use different rules and should not be treated as ordinary adult public records.
